OUR STORY

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We are excited about the opportunity to share our incredible Escobar adventures with you for many years to come. Before we delve into that, I want to share our remarkable story of overcoming many years of infertility and ultimately becoming foster parents to our son, Rafy, and welcoming the birth of our miracle son, Lennox.

After enduring several rounds of IVF, surgeries, and the disappointment of an unsuccessful IVF embryo transfer, we felt compelled to open our hearts and home to a child in need and become foster parents. We were determined to obey God's calling despite not knowing exactly what it would entail. It was more important for us to provide a loving home for a child in need than to focus all our efforts on creating our own biological family.

So, in 2022, we became licensed and began receiving placement calls. As each story of heartbreak came through, we didn't feel at peace with any situation. Until April 14, we received a call about a six-week-old baby boy named Angel, who had suffered 19 broken bones and had been in the hospital for the past two weeks. He was in a cast and was worse off than any of the placement calls we had received before. For some reason, we knew almost immediately we had to say yes.

As the days and months passed and he grew and bonded with our family, we begged God to comfort us as we waited for the judgment on this case to come through. God, in His faithfulness, reassured us that He held Rafy's future in the palm of His hands and that we did not have to do or worry about anything. The verse that gave me so much peace was Exodus 14:14, "The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still."

While events unfolded in Rafy’s case, I discovered I was pregnant with our son, Lennox, on May 5, 2022. I had a wonderful pregnancy for 26 weeks. However, on November 7th, we received troubling news from our doctor: Lennox was facing an emergency situation as his stomach was not growing. We were informed that if there were no improvement within a week, we would have to deliver him, even though he needed more time to grow.

As our family rallied around us to provide support and help us make decisions on how to continue our mission of loving Rafy while ensuring he didn't feel the effects of this frightening time, we chose to cling to a promise that God had given me many years ago: “The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen.” Isaiah 60:22 Because of the distressing circumstances, we thought it was in our best interest to hold off on a baby shower and wait until after he was born to celebrate the miracle that we knew God was going to do. Although we didn't see it clearly at the time, looking back, we realize that God was asking us to have faith that He would make Rafy our forever son, as well as Lennox.

On January 30, we welcomed our healthy baby boy, Lennox James Escobar. He was the first answer to our prayers of expanding our family. Later that year, we received the news that we were approved to adopt Rafy. On September 20, 2024, he will legally become part of our forever family, fulfilling the second part of God's promise to us. Raf and I are firm believers that God chose not only Rafy but also Lennox as our son. Despite their differing paths to our family, they both represent answers to our prayers and a realization of God's promise to us. We're grateful for you taking the time to listen to our story, and we hope it inspires you to have faith in God's promises for your life!

Registry

Registry

We are incredibly thankful for your visit to our website and interest in learning more about our two wonderful boys! Since we didn't have a baby shower, we set up a registry for those who wanted to know what they could get us when Lennox was born. We are planning to take the boys on an amazing family trip in 2025, so if you would like to contribute to that, it would mean the world to us. If you prefer to go the more traditional route and get them toys, clothes, or toddler essentials, please click the link to our registry. Thank you!

  • Family Trip

To commemorate Rafy officially becoming a part of the Escobar family and to make up for the missed baby shower for Lennox, we are organizing an exciting trip in 2025 that the boys will never forget.

  • Toddler Items

We've selected some fantastic toys that we're sure the boys will adore. However, if you have something else in mind, please don't hesitate to choose it. They are passionate about anything related to dinosaurs, construction vehicles, or monster trucks.
